What it is

The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel using TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C. These ingredients work together - the TCA resurfaces, the retinoid accelerates turnover, salicylic acid clears pores, and vitamin C protects during healing.

What makes the VI Peel different is its ability to treat pigmentation, acne, fine lines, and texture in one application - across all skin types, including deeper skin tones that historically couldn’t safely use many peels.

We perform VI Peels at our Cherry Creek studio at 36 Steele St, Suite 100, serving guests from across Denver - including nearby Cherry Creek North, Country Club, Congress Park, Belcaro, Hilltop, and Hale, as well as Capitol Hill, Washington Park, and the broader Denver metro. Most clients can reach us within a 10-minute drive. We're in Cherry Creek North on Steele Street, directly across from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and walking distance to Fillmore Plaza.

Many clients also consider PRX Derm Perfexion and PRX Plus as related options.

What to expect

The in-office application takes about 30 minutes. You’ll feel warm tingling as each layer goes on. You leave with the peel on your face and wash it off at home after 4 to 6 hours using the take-home kit we provide.

Days 3 to 7: visible peeling begins - don’t pick. By day 7 to 10, fresh skin is revealed, noticeably brighter and more even. Best results come from 3 to 4 peels spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. SPF 30+ daily is mandatory after.

Service FAQs

If you don't see your question, just reach out

Is the VI Peel safe for darker skin tones?

The VI Peel was specifically formulated with diverse skin tones in mind. The VI Peel Precision Plus is designed explicitly for hyperpigmentation in all skin types, including Fitzpatrick types IV through VI. It's one of the few medium-depth peels considered safe across the full spectrum of skin tones.

How many VI Peel treatments will I need?

A single peel delivers visible improvement, but a series of three to four treatments spaced four to six weeks apart produces the most dramatic results for concerns like melasma, acne scarring, or sun damage. Maintenance peels every three to four months keep skin looking its best.

Can I wear makeup during the VI Peel peeling phase?

We recommend keeping your skin bare for the first 24 hours after application. Once peeling begins around day three, you can use mineral makeup if needed, but letting the skin breathe and shed naturally gives you the best results. Most patients plan the peel around their social calendar.

How long does the peeling process take?

Most patients begin peeling on day three, with the heaviest shedding occurring on days four and five. By day seven, the peeling is typically complete and you'll see fresh, renewed skin underneath. The peeling is generally mild and flaky rather than dramatic sheets of skin.

What makes the VI Peel different from other chemical peels?

The VI Peel uses a synergistic blend of TCA, salicylic acid, retinoic acid, phenol, and vitamin C that penetrates effectively with minimal discomfort. Unlike many medium-depth peels, it's safe for all skin types and tones, including darker complexions that carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

What is the downtime for a VI Peel?

Downtime typically lasts 3-7 days with visible peeling and flaking. Plan for this recovery period when scheduling your treatment.

How long does the VI Peel procedure take?

The procedure takes 15 to 30 minutes for application and processing. Recovery and results follow over the next week.

What results can I expect from a VI Peel?

Expect dramatic improvements in texture, tone, wrinkles, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. Results continue improving as skin heals over 2-3 weeks.

What are the different types of VI Peels available?

VI offers the Classic Peel and Advanced Peel, with the Advanced version addressing more severe aging and skin concerns. Your provider recommends the best option for your skin.

What is a VI Peel and how does it work?

VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel using powerful ingredients to remove damaged skin layers. It stimulates collagen production for dramatic rejuvenation.
